More about Mike & His Background.
Raised in a family of “Mr. Fix Its,” Mike learned from an early age how to be handy around the house. Excelling in carpentry and organizational-inspired designs, Mike recently remodeled his 2,000sq.ft. penthouse loft into a stunning three-bedroom apartment. A self-proclaimed “Mike of All Trades,” he’s considered ‘the brains’ and ‘the muscle’ of the group. As a personal trainer, Mike is devoted to maintaining his well-toned physique, his efforts leading him to be a highly sought after national and international model, with a more-than-impressive career thus far. He consistently serves as Calvin Klein’s main underwear model and has worked for such clients as Giorgio Armani, Brunello Cucinelli, Saks Fifth Avenue, GQ, Men’s Health and Vogue, among many others. In addition, Mike is currently pursuing an accelerated JD/MBA at Fordham Law School, on track to receive his law degree and his business degree simultaneously through the accelerated program – a first for any student at the university. Earlier this year, Mike formed Famed International, Inc., an entertainment management company that develops, mentors and legally protects models, actors and artists from around the world. His goal was to start small but with his ambition and drive, his company has grown quickly to become a premier destination for the entertainment industry. In an effort to give back to his community, Mike is currently creating a charity geared towards students and the promotion of higher learning, that he says, “will revolutionize the American educational system.”
How I Started Modeling
One day on summer vacation from college, I was approached in the street by a NYC agent. The next day I went into the agency for ameet and greet with the rest of the agents, 10 days later I was in Milan walking in Fashion Week, which turned into a summer abroad modeling all around Europe: Italy, Germany, France, London and then booked one of my largest international campaigns in Australia for a few weeks... From there, I cam back to NYC, signed to my current agency (Wilhelmina) and the rest is history!
With a unique approach to stylish living, Style Media's new docu-series "Built" follows high-fashion male models whose handy skills extend beyond the runways to remodeling homes. Produced by Endemol USA, "Built" follows a Manhattan home design and construction service staffed exclusively with male models who are also experienced handymen. "Built" debuts Monday, January 28 at 9pm ET/PT with a 10-episode order, following the season five premiere of "Jerseylicious" at 8pm ET/PT on Style.
On each new episode of "Built," the five-man crew will tackle a home makeover project by helping their clients with remodeling challenges. A prominent interior designer with Hott and Handy lends her insight and expertise to ensure that the creative expectations are being met. With their different personalities and skill sets, the "Built" team sometimes struggles to find common ground in their work; however, their dizzying good looks bind them together and ensure a handsome ending.
